WE DID IT!

I wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped make this experience possible! I couldn't have done this without your support, both mentally and financially. It was a long, 12 hour ride out to Montauk full of flat tires, new pedals, and slight delirium but it was absolutely incredible.

UPDATE!

WOW! First I would like to thank everyone who has donated up to this point! We're only $500 short! So sosososoooooo close! Sorry I haven't updated the blog in a while, blame school, stupid gsapp. Well, riding is going awesome. We just did 70+ miles last weekend in Jersey, starting at Strictly Bikes and riding all the way up to Nyack, then back over the GWB, and down to 70th st. for some well needed lunch. I have decided, along with a few other TNT people to do the entire race, which is now 145 miles! Yes, 145 miles, starting at 5am at Penn station and going straight out to montauk. Woah. So, hopefully some new pics to come soon and again, thank you for all of your support! If you haven't donated yet, here's the easiest way to do so.

Training Update

So this weekend was the beginning of this intense journey. I ended up with Friday afternoon off from class and took a 12 mile ride around central park (2 laps on the main loop). I managed to lay down 2 consistent 21 minute lap times, so i'm calling that my baseline. I'm hoping to get that down to 17-18 minutes average by May, and lower by race day. Saturday was our first group spin class at Equinox which was intense (P.S.-feel free to hook me up with a membership if you have any connections because it is amazing.) Seeing the group of 40 people sweating together for the same amazing cause was pretty motivating when cranking up the resistance and mashing up the 'hills'.

Thank you again to everyone who has donated so far and keep up the awesomeness everyone!

Welcome!

This past weekend I registered to participate in a 100 mile bike race from Babylon-Montauk New York with the leukemia and lymphoma society. In order to make this a successful endeavor I need to raise 2.600 dollars for the lls. I am asking you, my friends and family to please help me achieve this goal and help to find a cure.
Ivam taking on this challenge in an effort to not only help the lls, but to get in shape and build the confidence and endurance to participate next summer in the new york city triathlon. All of my training, as well as the race will be done on my windsor hour fixed gear bike with a gearing of 48/17. This itself should be an incredible challenge, but one that i look forward to completing. I've set up this blog to help myself keep on track and to stay motivated. Check back to keep in the loop. Feel free to comment on any of the posts with suggestions regarding any aspect of the ride.

Thank you for all of your help and support.
